San Diego, CA (Nov. 11, 2021) — MedTechVets’ lineup of 2021 Sponsors includes AdvaMed, a trade association specialized in leading large efforts to improve medical technology for the betterment of human health. This sponsorship solidifies MedTechVets efforts through the Foundational Program, and mentorship to provide the best-in-class career preparation for transitioning veterans.
AdvaMed has been a supporter and corporate sponsor of MedTechVets since the nonprofit’s inception in 2014. Every year, AdvaMed powers the MedTech Conference, which serves as an invaluable resource for veterans to network and access some of the top leaders in MedTech and Life Science. After each program, MedTechVets invites Program graduates to attend this conference. As a sponsor, AdvaMed’s donation will support veterans free participation in the virtual Foundational Program, provide access to the MedTech conferences for veterans, as well as support MedTechVets’ efforts to spread the word to the local San Diego military community and beyond.
With this renewed partnership, AdvaMed will receive access to the resume booklets of Program Fellows—who are the top applicants chosen for each Program, along with all exclusive networking conferences held by MedTechVets, which provide access to our veteran talent. In addition, Foundational Program veterans will have access to potential mentors and employment opportunities.
“We’re excited to continue this partnership with MedTechVets,” said Scott Whittaker, CEO and President of AdvaMed. “It’s an honor to continue to bolster opportunities for veterans, especially through their attendance at the annual MedTech Conference.”
Mike Minogue, the CEO and President of Abiomed and Chairman of the board of directors at AdvaMed, founded MedTechVets. The organization was started on the premise that veterans have a lot to offer, particularly in fields like biotech, medical technology and life science—but lack robust enough resources to assimilate into roles within these industries. MedTechVets boasts that 72% of fellows have found employment within 6 months of graduating from the Foundational Program. Companies like AdvaMed help MedTechVets offer the free program with the best possible curriculum, instructors, and mentors to help these veterans thrive in new roles.
