President George W. Bush Honors MVPvets Veterans and Mentors
October 4, 2018: In case you missed it, AdvaMed featured MedTechVets at their 2018 MedTech Conference last week in Philadelphia. Some of the MedTechVets’ veterans and mentors in attendance at the conference were invited to meet with President George W. Bush, keynote speaker at the MedTech Conference, who graciously provided them with an autographed copy of his book Portraits in Courage – A Commander in Chief’s Tribute to America’s Warriors.
Workshop Focuses on Industry Careers
Veterans from the Pennsylvania and New York area attended the MedTechVets conference session to learn more about Medical Devices/Technology and the diverse array of careers this fast-growing industry generates.
Veterans Network with Mentors and Company Reps
Mentors, from a variety of companies, provided insight via a panel presentation on the challenges they faced when personally transitioning from the military into the civilian workplace. These same individuals, in addition to other mentors, also made themselves available to those attending by answering questions about job search strategies and career opportunities their own companies offer.
Sponsors and Supporting Companies Back MVPvets
Abiomed, BD, Accenture, B. Braun, AdvaMed, Johnson & Johnson, and Minnetronix, were among those vocal in their support of MVPvets at the MedTech Conference.
